Breakout Games

Summary – Updated Dec ’24

Breakout was the first of the national chains to come to Charlotte.  They opened in the Carolina Place Mall (Pineville) pre-pandemic.  As is with all Breakout locations, you’ll find the same escape rooms here was you do nearly all locations across the country.

Our Experience

We played one of the rooms that they’ve since retired and enjoyed it.  We also played Wild West in another city.  They’re solid games.  It’s unfortunate that every location has the same rooms, but that’s understandable.  Their model is to create games once and build them many times over throughout the country.  Not a big deal at all if you’re a local and not an enthusiast who is going to travel around playing escape rooms!

Best Time to Go

Like most escape rooms, weekends are busier than weekdays, and it’s much harder to do a walk-in game with them.  You’ll definitely want to book ahead.

 What Others Say

They’re a solid, well-run national chain.  You’ll get good games with good design.  The staff is generally good.
